STETHS back on track with 4-0 win over Lacovia

SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) appear to be over the early season jitters after handing Lacovia High their first loss of the season, winning their ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup Zone E return-round game 4-0 in Santa Cruz yesterday.

Michael Kerr scored a hat-trick to go with four he scored in mid-week to lead STETHS, who are now the zone leaders on goal difference with 11 points, ahead of BB Coke High.

This was STETHS’s first back-to-back win all season after they managed just eight points from their first five games.

Meanwhile, Manchester High, Paul Bogle High and Rusea’s High all extended perfect win records while defending champions Clarendon College are the sole leaders in Zone H after beating Thompson Town 3-1.

Duhaney Williams continued his hot streak with a brace to give Manchester High a 2-0 win over Cross Keys, as they improved to 18 points in Zone F, from six straight victories.

Romario Kelly also scored twice for Paul Bogle High in their 5-1 win over Morant Bay High in Zone O, their fifth straight win.

In Lucea, Dushane Beckford’s double carried Rusea’s High to a 3-0 win over Merlene Ottey High for their fourth straight in Zone B.

Seigel Knight and Tijon Hibbert, as well as a defender scored for Clarendon College in their win over Thompson Town to 10 points at the top after Edwin Allen High upset Lennon High 2-1 to take over second place.

In Zone A, Peter Campbell came off the bench to score a second half hat trick to lead Green Pond High to their first win of the season, 5-1 over Irwin High, who have now lost 11 straight dating back to last season.
