I want her to be as comfortable as possible when I become more independent. TA: How did you get started?
TD: Well I have been doing Tracks from basic school. I think it runs in the family.TA: What do you enjoy most about the sport?
TD: I enjoy the bonds that are created, the friends made and the experience gained and travelling.TA: What was your favourite moment in the sport?
TD: Making the 4x400m finals last season (2015)TA: What is the biggest benefit you have gotten from the sport?
TD: I have obtained some financial-aid because of the sport so I would say that’s been the biggest benefit so far.TA: What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you at a track meet?
TD: It’s too embarrassing to say.TA: Who is your favourite athlete and why?
TD: Kerron Stewart. She is determined, humble and doesn’t make anyone deter her from doing the sport. She doesn’t have to be a winner to be a champion.TA: Who inspires you and why?
TD: My mother is my biggest inspiration, she goes through a lot yet she keeps a smile on her face just to keep me motivated.TA: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
TD: First year out of college in a job trying to gain money to build my own business.TA: If you didn’t have track and field, what would you be doing now?
TD: Maybe I would be trying netball. Sports help me to be disciplined and get good grades.TA: Message to fans/ friends/foes?
TD: You do not have to win to be a champion. Have a goal and work to achieve it. No pain, no gains so train hard, win easy. Tracks girls can also be Head Girls.
