Antiguan Thomas to play for St Thomas in JCA competition
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Leeward Islands wicketkeeper/batsman Devon Thomas has been registered to represent St Thomas CA in time for their clash with Kensington CC in the ongoing Jamaica Cricket Association 50-over competition.
Dennis Gordon, president of St Thomas CA, confirmed that the sidelined West Indies cricketer has committed to playing Sunday’s fifth-round encounter at Good Year Oval.
“I can confirm that he arrives here tomorrow [Friday] and he will be suited up on Sunday,” Gordon told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Thomas, 25, has played 21 One-Day and three Twenty20 Internationals for the West Indies.
Gordon said the move to take the Antiguan to play for St Thomas was orchestrated by skipper Carlton Baugh.
St Thomas are currently third in Zone D of the JCA competition with 12 points, behind leaders Kingston CC (24) and second-placed Melbourne CC (18). The top two teams in the zone will advance to the quarter-final stage.
