Cabbie leads cops on high-speed chase
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A taxi operator has been arrested after leading the police on a high-speed chase, which resulted in two people being mowed down in Half-Way-Tree, St Andrew this morning.
Details surrounding the incident are sketchy, however, reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that about 8:30am, the police and Transport Authority officials ordered a taxi operator to stop but he ignored.
Allegations are that a chase ensued along Constant Spring Road, which resulted in two people being rushed to hospital after being mowed down. It is uncertain which motor vehicle hit the injured parties.
“Bwoy the thing was like a scene from a movie all shot fire during the chase,” said one supposed eyewitness.
The driver was eventually held along Spanish Town Road.
More information later.
