Students of the Calabar Primary and Infant School in Kingston Central were Tuesday presented with books by the Palmyra Foundation, through its Books4Kids initiative. Here, Michael McMorris (right), principal/CEO of Kronos Investment and Development, one of the sponsors of the initiative, is joined by Education Minister Ronald Thwaites in handing out some of the books. Books4Kids Jamaica has, since its inception in 2007, through its sponsors and volunteers, provided more than 155,000 books to 43,000 children in more than 130 schools islandwide. Each child gets a Books4Kids bag that contains one 300-page BrainQuest Workbook, one to two kindergarten reading books, a pack of crayons and a pencil, valued at US$35. (PHOTO: GARFIELD ROBINSON)
