UPDATE: Jogger who collapsed, died at Emancipation Park identified
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The man, who collapsed and died while exercising at the Emancipation Park in Kingston last evening, has been identified.
He is Conroy Douglas, a 45-year-old business operator.
Reports are that at about 7:00 pm Douglas was jogging in the park when he started to complain that he was not feeling well.
“We were there jogging and after a few laps he just stopped and started to complain that he was not feeling well, a few minutes later he collapsed,” said Dwight Henry, a friend who was running with Douglas at the time he collapsed.
“By the time that happened I ran to get the car when I came back a doctor who was at the park checked him and said he was dead,” said the friend.
The incident brought several activities at the park to a halt yesterday as police cordoned off a section of the facility.
The incident left family members and friends of the deceased in shock.
