I live in Harbour View, which is a part of People’s National Party (PNP) golden boy Damion Crawford’s constituency; but I don’t check for either the orange or green lemonade. I am an independent, hard-working father of three that I am trying my best to school so they can come out better than me. I value education as a top priority, yet, from my observation, Crawford ‘lick him head’. Even based on his interview that appeared on the front page of the Sunday Observer, it shows Crawford hasn’t learnt yet that the reason the people kicked him out of the constituency is that he is too disrespectful and always call the people names that make other people look on them a certain way.

Crawford started this when he came into the constituency and he has been doing this thing since, and is still doing it. It is obvious from the interview that Crawford suffers from a severe sense of self-righteousness and superiority, and that he totally overvalues what he brings to the people and woefully undervalues the people themselves. Well, the people set for him and showed him big action instead of big chat.

Instead of quietly hugging up his licks and going away, he continues ‘running up his mouth’, bad-mouthing the very constituency people who gave him a platform ‘fi chat big chat’, calling them all kinds of names, like saying that, “everybody nyam a food, but nobody buy groceries,” which is a total and absolute misrepresentation of the people’s long-suffering and legitimate need for help and support.

Even my family and I, when we have it, we have to share with our neighbours who are worse off, even though we are not into the politics thing.

He says he doesn’t go to nine night because he’s not going there to run politics, and he’s not going if he doesn’t know the people. Well, when people have their grief, they want neighbours and leaders and so on to show up and show some care. It makes them feel better, even if they don’t know them personally. Crawford’s position just goes to show that he is clueless about identifying with the people and caring about real needs. It’s all about him and what he wants. Well, nothing can run so, not even politics.

As they say, time longer than rope, and time run out on Crawford, who is basically a political misfit, for he doesn’t have what it takes to properly represent the people.

My hope is his party doesn’t reward him by giving him a big job for that would be double, triple disrespect.
