TFA President’s Cup KO semi-finals on today
FALMOUTH, Trelawny — The finalists in the Trelawny Football Association President’s Cup knockout will be decided today following the semi-final double- header at Elliston Wakeland, set to start at 1:00 pm.
Spicy Hill face Harmony FC in the first game followed by Coopers Pen against Rio Bueno, set to start at 3:00 pm.
The semi-finalists were decided in last weekend’s first round of matches where Rio Bueno upset Major League champions Clark’s Town, beating them 1-0 at Cedric Titus High School.
Garfield Stewart scored the winner in the 23rd minute for Rio Bueno.
Coopers Pen beat promoted Division One champions Fire FC 3-0, with goals from Shaunavan McKenzie, Andre Palmer and Shamanie Stoney, to book their spot in today’s semi-final.
Dontae Johnson and Jeff Pearce scored for Harmony FC in their 2-0 win over Daniel Town, while Spicy Hill advanced ahead of Bunkers Hill So Fresh on penalty kicks.
The teams had drawn 0-0 in their game after regulation and extra time.
