Pitch Perfect 3
There is a confirmation from Elizabeth Banks that there will be a third installment of the musical comedy Pitch Perfect.
The directors and writers of the show calculated a large sum of cash, garnered just from the first movie in 2012. Pitch Perfect 2 however, grossed over $286 million worldwide. So looking at this from an economical standpoint, there might be some gain.
But, I wonder, is this really necessary? Though there might absolutely be no doubt that everyone enjoyed the aca-awesomeness of the first two shows, there needs not be an extension. The plot of the show has already been exhausted. There were slight distinctions between both part one and two and possibly they’re coming with elements of the same plot, which is boring. Plus there are already enough musicals that reinforces the idea of generic music, coupled with forced humour from “stereotypical” characters. Was a part three necessary?
My doubt aside though, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow; who played leading roles in the first two films are already on board with signed contracts. With that said, there seems to be no holding back.
The show is scheduled to hit theaters August 4, 2017, so let’s wait to see if Pitch Perfect 3, will be a hit or a big miss.
