Knox, Titchfield in top rural area netball clash
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The hunt for places in the quarter-finals of the ISSA rural area netball competition continues today, with the top teams in each division looking to pull away from the pack.
After two games in the secon-round, respective junior and senior champions Denbigh High and Holmwood Technical are among nine teams boasting perfect records — the others being Knox College, Manchester High, Titchfield High, St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), deCarteret College, Anchovy High and Albert Town High.
Some of these teams, based on their superior goal difference, could actually advance to the next round with victories today. But that will depend on a combination of results going in particular directions.
Meanwhile, the most interesting match-up today will come from the senior league, with Group Four rivals Knox and Titchfield set to meet in a top-of-the-table clash at The Queen’s School.
Both sides scored comfortable wins in their first two outings, but Knox, boasting the best goal difference in the competition, should start as slight favourites.
Manchester versus STETHS in Mandeville should also be a keen contest. Both sides have six points from two games, with host Manchester having a better goal average.
In the junior league, holders Denbigh should make it three straight wins when they play Anchovy at STETHS Knox are also favoured against St Thomas Technical at The Queen’s School, where Holmwood and Titchfield will also meet in a tough Group Four encounter.
Matches begin at 10:30 am with the juniors.
