Titchfield top Knox in rural area netball
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Titchfield High humbled high-flying Knox College 35-24 in their top-of-the-table ISSA rural area senior league netball clash on Thursday to move within a point of the quarter-finals.
Knox entered the contest as the most impressive team in the second round, but found the going tough against their Portland-based rivals.
The defeat was their first in three games and it has relegated them to second place in Group Four, three points behind Titchfield who only need to avoid defeat in their next game against Old Harbour High to book their quarter-final spot.
Meanwhile, holders Holmwood Technical clobbered Yallahs High 63-13 to stay three points at the top of Group Three.
Elsewhere, Manchester High affirmed their authority in Group Two with a 50-17 thrashing of St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) in Mandeville, while York Castle were no match for Glenmuir High, losing 7-42.
Denbigh High whipped Irwin 67-13 in Santa Cruz to stay at the top of Group One, with Frome Technical and Hampton School joining deCarteret College (DC) on six points in second place.
Frome beat DC 25-10, while Hampton held off Aabuthnott Gallimore 24-20.
Meanwhile, in the junior division, champions Denbigh continue to set the pace in Group One, beating Anchovy High 31-19 for their ninth point; Knox are out front in Group Three, while Holmwood stopped Titchfield 34-27 to take charge of Group Four.
