The Queen’s hunt semi-final spot in ISSA urban netball
DEFENDING champions The Queen’s School will take on former champions Tarrant High in a Senior League encounter as the 2015 Inter-secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) high schoolgirls netball competition continues today at the Leila Robinson Courts starting at 2:15 pm.
The Queen’s and Tarrant encounter is scheduled to begin at 3:45 pm.
The Queen’s, coached by Marvette Anderson, have won all their preliminary-round matches, including matches played in the second round.
Meanwhile, last year’s beaten Senior League finalists St Hugh’s, coached by Roy Pryce, will be hunting their second win from three starts when they face Gaynstead, coached by Dalton Hinds. Gaynstead have won and lost one. The game begins at 4:00 pm.
In other Senior League games scheduled today, Norman Manley High face Excelsior High at 3:00 pm; Holy Childhood take on Campion College at 3:00 pm; St Catherine High will challenge St Andrew Technical High (STATHS) at 3:45 pm; Camperdown High go against Meadowbrook High at 4:00 pm.
Action also continues in the Junior League with Norman Manley vs Excelsior, Campion College vs Alpha Academy, Gaynstead High vs Meadowbrook High; Holy Childhood vs Ardenne High at 2:15 pm; St Hugh’s High vs The Queen’s and Camperdown High vs Tarrant High at 3:00 pm.
Meanwhile, in results of matches played last Friday before rain brought a premature end, The Queen’s beat Holy Childhood
39-20; Ardenne got past Tarrant 24-22; Norman Manley outscored Alpha Academy 23-13; Meadowbrook defeated Excelsior 27-17; and St Hugh’s and Camperdown played to an exciting 24-24 draw in Junior League action.
And in Senior League play, The Queen’s defeated St Catherine High 38-29, while Tarrant got the better of Excelsior 27-22.
