PCL Update: Scorpions coach looks to Red Force clash
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Junior Bennett, the Jamaica Scorpions head coach, is urging his batsmen to step up to the plate for the third-round WICB Professional Cricket League match against hosts Trinidad & Tobago Red Force.
The four-day encounter, scheduled for Queen’s Park Oval, begins on Friday.
“Once our batting comes to the party we’ll be very competitive in that game there. Their batting is a bit up and down just like us,” said Bennett.
In other games this round, defending champions Guyana Jaguars host Barbados Pride at the Providence Stadium and Windward Islands Volcanoes entertain rivals Leeward Islands Hurricanes at Windsor Park in Dominica.
The Jaguars lead the standing with 35 points, ahead of the Pride (25 points), the Red Force (23 points) and the Scorpions (18 points). The Volcanoes (seven points) and Hurricanes (four points), who are both yet to win a game, hold the two bottom places.
