Mile Gully, Ricam to open Major League account today
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The Manchester FA/Magnum/Captain’s Bakery Major League continues today with two first-round games, both set for 3:00 pm starts at the Kirkvine Sports Club.
Mile Gully FC will play Comfort in one game on Field A, while Ricam Academy will tackle promoted Land Settlement in the other encounter on Field B.
The competition began on Sunday with title holders Hillstars FC and former champions Alligator Pond FC scoring impressive victories over Georges Valley and Villa United respectively.
Hillstars blanked Valley 4-0, while Alligator Pond thrashed Villa 5-0. Newcomers Old England Greenvale United ended 3-3 in the day’s other game.
Today, former Premier League campaigners Mile Gully, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, will be looking to hit the ground running this term when they face Comfort.
In the other match, Ricam, a team started less than five seasons ago, are expected to get the better of newcomers, Settlement.
The central Manchester side are currently enjoying an impressive start to the season after advancing to the Brumalia House Knockout final for the first time in their history and will now look to transfer that start to the Major League.
