6 escaped prisoners still at large
ST JAMES, Jamaica — One week after six prisoners escaped from the Freeport Police Station in St James, they are still at large.
The men escaped from their cell last Monday, between 4:00 am and 5:00 am, by “breaching the system through faulty plumbing fixtures in the bathroom area”, commander of the St James Police Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Steve McGregor had said last week.
The prisoners, he said, escaped over the perimeter wall into bushes near the police station.
A massive manhunt was launched after their escape; however, the police confirmed today that they are yet to recapture the prisoners.
