Hot times for Razor B
DEEJAY Razor B’s career got some momentum this year thanks to a risque song named Hot Up. Released in April, it was a hit especially with the ladies.
With a dance created by Boom Diva Latty, Hot Up has taken off with females, some of whom use fire against their private area while doing the move.
“It’s crazy in an exciting way. This song has brought back the ladies to the video light in the dancehall,” said Razor B.
Hot Up is produced by DJ Franko. Razor B said although he had high hopes for the single, its success has exceeded expectations.
“I didn’t know it would be this massive, as its hard to determine if a song will be a hit or not. In Canada it’s much harder for an artiste to get a hit but this single did it and I am really happy it has become one of the most popular song for 2015,” Razor B told Splash.
Originally from Waterford in Portmore, Razor B (given name Roger Cassup) migrated to Canada in 1993. Now in his late 30s, he has been doing music professionally for almost 20 years.
Among his better known songs are Trailer Load, We Party, Whine and Stop and Pedal and Whine.
Razor B, who lives in Toronto, operates OG Restaurant and Catering Services in that city. In addition to working on an EP, he will perform at Sting on Boxing Day.
