Police seize 154 cartons of uncustomed cigarettes
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – The Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) seized 154 cartons of uncustomed cigarettes branded Carven A and Newport, each containing 50 boxes at an apartment in St Andrew earlier today.
Reports from the CTOC are that a group of officers was on an operation in the area when a house was searched and the illicit cigarettes allegedly found.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Clifford Chambers the items are believed to be a part of a large trade in counterfeit goods.
No one was arrested in connection with the find.
