PM congratulates MJW Sanneta Myrie
KINGSTON, Jamaica (JIS) — Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has extended congratulations to Miss Jamaica World, Dr Sanneta Myrie, on placing in the top five in the 2015 Miss World Competition, held today in Sanya, China.

“She exhibited poise and grace on stage and her excellent performance has made Jamaicans all over the world very proud.
“Sanneta truly embodies beauty with a purpose, and represents all that is good about our beloved island.
“While she did not walk away with the crown, she made an impact through her altruism, having tied for generating the most money on items brought for a charity auction.
“She was also third in the talent competition.
“As the first dreadlocked contestant to win Miss Jamaica World and enter the Miss World competition, Sanneta is a pioneer in her own right, and is a wonderful role model for the country’s young people.
“Well done Sanneta. Jamaica is proud of you. Continue to fly our flag high.”
Spain’s Mireia Lalaguna Royo was named the winner of the Miss World 2015 competition while Sofia Nikitchuk of Russia was the runner-up and Indonesia’s Maria Harfanti took third place in the final of the competition that featured 114 women.
