Weekly Round-Up: Ban corporal punishment?… Flippa Guilty… Lady Saw baptised
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) spokesperson on Education and Youth Senator Kamina Johnson Smith is calling on Education Minister Ronald Thwaites to immediately ban corporal punishment in schools. Her suggestion follows reports of another child allegedly being injured at a school from an alleged beating with a ruler.
In entertainment, after attending J Capri’s funeral service, deejay Lady Saw announced her decision to become a servant of the Lord. She was baptised later that evening in a private service.
Meanwhile, another entertainer’s fate was sealed. Deejay Flippa Mafia was found guilty of distribution of cocaine, money laundering, and conspiracy in New Jersey, USA on Thursday.
