St Elizabeth cops charge man for lotto scamming
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Detectives assigned to the Santa Cruz Police Station in St Elizabeth on Sunday charged a man for lotto scamming.
He is 39-year-old Marlon Green, farmer of Flamstead in St James.
Reports are that about 4:20 pm Saturday, Green went to the Santa Cruz Police Station to report a motor vehicle accident. He began acting in a manner which aroused the suspicion of the officers and was searched. Lead Sheets containing identity information of people living in the United States of America was found in his possession, the police report.
He was arrested and charged with breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act on Sunday, following an interview in the presence of his attorney.
Green is scheduled to appear before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to answer to charges of knowingly possessing identity information
