Al Miller perverting justice case resumes March 23
THE perverting the course of justice case against firebrand pastor Rev Al Miller is to resume on March 23.
The date was set yesterday when Miller appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Miller, who heads Fellowship Tabernacle in St Andrew, was charged after police officers stopped him on Mandela Highway with former Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke in his (Miller’s) motor vehicle, on June 22, 2010.
At the time, Coke was on the run in an attempt to elude arrest, and ultimately, extradition to the United States to face drug and gun-running charges.
Miller’s defence is that he was transporting Coke to the United States Embassy in Liguanea where security officers were awaiting him, in keeping with an agreement with then Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington.
Miller’s legal team will seek to enter the transcript of Ellington’s evidence before the Tivoli Enquiry, due to the fact that he declined to give evidence in the trial of the clergyman.
