2016 Make-up Trend Report

Under the Dryer sets the foundation with this season’s make-up trends.

– A proper skin regimen is key to beautiful skin; basic routine products include: a cleanser, scrub, moisturiser and toner. This creates the best canvas for any look.

– Less is more when applying products, especially make-up.

– Stick with the neutral/bronzy colours when it comes to eyeshadow, because next to skin, lips are becoming the main focal point.

Colours to use:

For eyes, keep it light and bronzy, a soft blend of colours is key to a fabulous look. A few colours can be incorporated; such as purples and blues.

Face:

A lightweight matte foundation will create the perfect canvas without being too heavy; always remember, less is more.

Product recommended:

L’OrÃ&Copy;al Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation

Make-up tips for the season:

– Beautiful skin affords a smooth canvas to work on. This allows all products we apply to the face to be absorbed in the skin rather than to sit on the face which would create a ‘cake face’ ie product build-up. (Basic skin care routine products include: cleanser, scrub, moisturiser and toner) this creates the best canvas for any make-up application.

– Less is more when using foundation. Apply a small amount to the inner part of the cheeks and blend outwards with a flat-top foundation brush.

– Create a natural glow to the face by applying bronzer to the cheeks and a small amount of highlighter right above the bronzer on the cheekbones.

Colours to use:

On the eyes: Keep it light and neutral; this can transition easily to a smokey look if needed; gold, bronze, copper, burgundy and soft metallic shades are the colours this season, a soft blend of colours is key to a fabulous look. Shades of purple and blue are also recommended on the lower lash line as they add a pop of colour/a bit of drama to the look.

On the lips: Matte lipsticks and matte lip pigments are totally in vogue these days. Colours like the deep purples and deep reds are quite popular and flattering for a number of areas on the skin. The pink nude hues and brown nude hues are also trending, whether it be glossy or matte.
