DJ Nicholas is confident his performance at the popular BET Celebration of Gospel show will broaden his base.

He performed the song On The Way with Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee Deitrick Haddon. On The Way also features Trinidadian singer Sherwin Gardner.

“I believe God will allow this to open more international doors. I know a hard-core gospel deejay is out of the norm and I know that not everyone will accept what I do. But I also believe that because I am different, it will be to my advantage and God is able to use anyone He chooses to,” said DJ Nicholas in an interview with the Sunday Observer.

Hosted by popular actress Taraji P Henson, the show was taped on January 9 and airs on BET on January 31.

It has an array of major acts such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Tamela Mann, former Mary Mary member Erica Campbell, Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar, Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight.

DJ Nicholas got on the show through Apostle Veryl Howard who does his booking and marketing in the United States. Howard also represents Haddon.

On the Way is from Haddon’s latest album, Masterpiece, which topped Billboard’s Gospel Album Chart and peaked at number 57 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

DJ Nicholas (real name Nicholas Eccleston) is known for the songs Things Already Better, Holy Ghost Gym, Divine Mathematics and Holy Ghost Church (with Kerron Ennis).

Based in Florida, he is nominated for Favourite Gospel Artiste at the 2016 Youth View Awards.
