Five maintain unbeaten streak in Open League
SEEDED teams JAMALCO, Cablepro, UTECH Knights, Waulgrovians ‘A’ and Molynes United ‘A’ maintained their unbeaten streak in the 2016 Netball Jamaica/JNBS Sunshine Open League competition in matches on Saturday and Sunday at the Leila Robinson Courts last weekend.
JAMALCO defeated Kens Wildflower 32-26, while Cablepro came out 23-8 winners over Southboro.
Meanwhile, defending champions Mico ‘B’ crushed Hagley Park 56-6, while their second game against SPEG ‘B’ ended prematurely due to rain with Mico ‘B’ leading 15-0 inside the first half.
In another game, Waulgrovians ‘A’ defeated Raven ‘B’ 25-14, but their next game with Fresh Approach was rained out and will be played at a later date.
UTECH Knights maintained their unbeaten run with a 41-8 win over Ocho Rios Magics, who lost their second match 32-8 to Red Challenge.
The biggest margin of victory was by former many-time Open league champions Waulgrovians ‘A’ who crushed Flying Angels 61-0.

On Saturday, Police ‘A’ defeated Sports and Games ‘A’ 26-5; Police ‘A’ outscored Drewsland 22-8; Duhaney Park beat Upper Camp 28-10; Molynes United ‘C’ beat Tryall Heights 28-18; Tivoli Gardens eased past SPEG ‘B’ 21-3; Molynes United ‘B’ beat Alpha ‘B’ 29-9; SPEG ‘A’ outscored Mico ‘C’ 21-16; Waterhouse Eagles defeated Jetsetters 26-7; Raven ‘B’ got the better of Molynes United ‘B’ 21-10; Friendship outscored Duhaney Park ‘B’ 22-8; Westchester got past Top Mountain Flames 18-15; Global United got by Duhaney Park ‘C’ 15-12; Westchester ‘A’ edged EXED Saints 14-13; Tryall Heights defeated Sports and Games ‘A’ 16-12; Jobs Lane United got past Police ‘C’ 18-13; Red Challenge defeated Westchester ‘B’ 18-4; Friendship beat Queens Park 12-7.
