Jah Torius hopes for break
RASTAFARIAN reggae singer Jah Torius is hoping to get his breakthrough from his latest single Nuh More than Jah.
The singer said he was inspired to write the song based on his observations.
“I am a God-fearing person and sometimes I just sit and observe some people and their doings. I would wonder if they think they are mightier than the Almighty,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
Jah Torius said Nuh More than Jah has been getting favourable airplay since its release in January.
“I think this is so because everyone can relate to knowing someone who is egotistic and think he or she is bigger than the Almighty,” he said.
Nuh More than Jah is produced by Dubakon and Torius’s Falmouth Dinesty Productions.
Jah Torius (whose given name is Shanry Williams) said he anticipates a fruitful career in the music industry as he focuses on reality issues.
Born in Trelawny, Jah Torius attended Cedric Titus High School. With encouragement from his family, he started his own record label called Falmouth Dinesty Productions in 2009.
In 2010, he released his debut single called Life is a Gift from God. This was followed by The System Evil, Real African and Poverty.
