ORIGINAL TRAIN MOTORS ON
Original Train (Image Maker – Regina Royal), owned and trained by Harry Parsard, continued to show notable progress when he scored a resounding win in a Restricted Stakes event at Caymanas Park last Saturday.
As usual, Original Train, with Wesley Henry in the saddle, raced in last position shortly after the start of the race behind expected leaders Dripping In Gold (Jerome Innis), Bubbling Kitten (Paul Francis) and Dreamcometrue (Shamaree Muir).
Original Train then began to round horses on the inside rails approaching the halfmile before he came with a strong run between horses in deep stretch and powered home to score by six lengths in the 1,600-metre event. Silver Cloud (Jevvanne Erwin) came on strong for second place ahead of Blue Dixie (Dane Nelson) and Dreamcometrue.
The time recorded was 1:39:1 minutes. “It was a very impressive performance by Original Train as he continues to show improvement with each run.
We didn’t expect him to go to the lead as the race ran to plan in keeping about 10 lengths off the lead before making a move at the halfmile and he did just that,” Parsard told The Complete Racing Guide.
“Let’s hope that he comes out of the race good and we will take it from here on,” he added. Henry said that it was an armchair ride for him.
“The race was pretty much easy. He is a very talented racehorse and so he just showed his class to his rivals.
Leaving the half-mile I knew once that I could get a clear run, we were going to win,” Henry said.
