Gibson/McCook Relays: Lamara Distin tops women’s high jump open
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Lamara Distin of Vere Technical topped the Sherwin Williams-sponsored women’s high jump Open at the Gibson McCook Relays at the National Stadium on Saturday.
Dustin, the former Ruseas’s High standout, cleared 1.75m to win the event and continue her rich vein of form. Tamoya Walters of EXED was second, also at a height of 1.75m, with Hydel’s Britny Kerr finishing third at 1.70m.
The men’s vault open, sponsored by Nestle, was won by Akeem Kerr of Jamaica College at a height of 3.80m. Michael Williams of Excelsior was second, also at 3.80m, and Jamaica College’s Dane Smith third at 3.60m.
