“The Quest for Quality”
Confidence in quality is the foundation of all that we in colleges and universities do to serve students and society. The 11th Annual Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education Week of the University Council of Jamaica is an important contribution to building this confidence, bringing together the interests of faculty, presidents, students, deans and employers in the quest to sustain and enhance excellence in education.
We at the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the nongovernmental organization of degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States that provides national coordination of institutional and programmatic accreditation, wish you all the best for your celebration.
Thank you for your commitment to the highest quality in tertiary education, for the outstanding work of the University Council and for your partnership with CHEA and quality assurance organizations worldwide.
The challenges before the international quality assurance community are many and great. It is heartening and encouraging to work with the University Council as we all seek to expand access and equity, to promote the finest of quality teaching and learning and to further the horizons of research and innovation in tertiary education. We look forward to our continuing relationship and to working together.
