Ghost, Frisco Kid to rock We Are Reggae
The Beach Bar at the renowned Doctors Cave Beach Club will play host on Saturday night to recording artistes Ghost and Frisco Kid, when the monthly concert series, We Are Reggae, continues in the resort city of Montego Bay.
Neither artiste has performed in western Jamaica in recent times, hence the high anticipation within Montego Bay and its environs.?
Ghost, a native of Kingston, whose given name is Carlton Hylton, came to prominence during the 1990s with reggae covers of pop classics such as? Something Inside So Strong, ?Do You Remember,? Here I Am ?and ?God Is Truly Amazing. The co-founder of The Monster Shack Crew, later renamed Monster Empire, has three full-length studio albums to his credit — Slowly,?Love You?and?Under The Moonlight — and has toured extensively.
In the year 2000, his self-penned track? Love You ?stormed reggae charts locally and across the globe landing in the coveted number one position.
With hit songs such as?Little & Cute, Matey Anthem, Video Light, Yuh & Yuh Man, Tribulation, western Kingston’s Stephen Wray, better known as Frisco Kid is one of dancehall music’s greats of the 1990s. The former member of the Shocking Vibes Crew has one studio album to his credit?finally,?and has brought his music across the globe.
Doctor Bright, who has graced the stage of Germany’s SummerJam Festival, toured Scandinavia in 2009, and recently released the track?Pretty Jamaica, will also perform on the We Are Reggae stage on Saturday night.
