Guardian General for Gold

Guardian General for Gold

Heightened expectation and celebration filled the air at the Guardian General Insurance Jamaica Limited (GGI) second annual broker award ceremony. The hip and modern J Wray & Nephew headquarters @twentythree was the venue for the ceremony last Thursday evening.

Witty banter, exquisite cuisine and complementary ‘Bhora-Bhora-singhhh’ cocktails, created in honour of GGI President Karen Bhoorasingh were the trappings for what would become an evening rich with flair and glamour.

The decor, coordinated under the artistic eye of Pussbackfoot by Aiesha Panton, included custom light fixtures and bouquets containing feathers and Swarovski crystals. These were the perfect contact points for the magenta and white lights, which paid homage to the GGI corporate colour palette.

The organising committee at GGI conceptualised a ‘A Celebration of Survival’ in honour of their hard-working VVIP employees and partners for the year 2015. The objective was to celebrate the varied achievements of the team, some of whom brought in new business in excess of $20 million.

Guests were entertained by Michael Sean Harris and Friends and enjoyed satiating victuals prepared by chef and caterer Colin Hylton.

Among the evening’s awards were Model Brokers, Ambassadors of the Year, Most Improved Brokers, Most Consistent Brokers, Top Motor Producers, Top Account Executives, Top Account Executives – New Business, and Top New Business.

Those at the top of their fields were feted with prizes that ran the full range: crystal plaques, Robert Hill artwork, brunch at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, trips to Miami or New York (let’s not forget shopping money), and the grand cash prize of $1 million. The evening featured several golden moments, Sunday Social shares scenes.
