Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call on House Speaker Charles

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica Niu Qingbao on Monday paid a courtesy call on the new Speaker of the House of Representatives Pearnel Charles at Gordon House, downtown Kingston.

In an exchange of gifts, the House Speaker received a copy of the book Analects of Confucius while the Ambassador received copies of two books authored by Charles.

Charles was selected and sworn in as House Speaker on March 10 with Frank Witter as Deputy Speaker of the House.
