J Boog blooms on Billboard
American reggae artiste J Boog recently topped the Billboard Reggae Album chart with the EP Rose Petals. It falls to number two this week with sales of 432 copies after first-week figures of 2,612.
Rose Petals is the follow-up to J Boog’s 2013 EP Live Up! which debuted at number four on the Billboard reggae table.
His previous chart-topper was 2011’s Backyard Boogie, which contained the hit single Let’s Do it Again, produced by Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett. That song was sampled last year by singer Pia Mia on the hit song Do it Again.
Born Jerry Afemata in Long Beach, California, J-Boog is based in Hawaii. His debut album Hear Me Roar was released in 2007.
J Boog has performed alongside a number of top reggae acts including Damian Marley, Ziggy Marley, SOJA, The Green and Rebelution.
