St Jago thrash McGrath 10-0 in schoolgirls’ football
Last year’s beaten finalist St Jago High thrashed McGrath High 10-0 in their Group Four encounter in the second round of the 2016 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) High Schoolgirls Football competition at home on Thursday.
Sydoney Clarke (three goals), Mordia Johnson (three goals) and Athacia Parkes (two goals) scored the bulk of the goals for St Jago who made a mockery of their opponents.
Meanwhile, defending champions Lennon High also got off to a good start in the second round when they defeated Montego Bay High 2-0 in their Group One encounter at home. Hosts Christiana High edged Edith Dalton James High 2-1 in the other group fixture.
In Group Two, hosts St James High outclassed Glenmuir High 5-1, and Denham Town High defeated St Elizabeth Technical High School 3-1 at home.
In the lone Group Three encounter, Excelsior High defeated Ocho Rios 5-2 at home.
Only the winners from the four groups will advance to the semi-finals.
Group One: Montego Bay, Christiana, Lennon and Edith Dalton James.
Group Two: St James, STETHS, Glenmuir and Denham Town
Group Three: Ocho Rios, Excelsior, Tivoli and Maud McLeod.
Group Four: McGrath, Ardenne, St Jago and Wolmer’s.
