Kingston Western cops seize 6 firearms in two days
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston Western Police say they seized six firearms and 45 rounds of ammunition between April 27 and 28 in the Division.
According to the police, the firearms and ammunition are, a Tech-nine sub-machine gun seized on Nelson Street in Denham Town; a Ruger 9mm pistol seized in Hannah Town; two Taurus 9mm pistols with 33 rounds of ammunition seized at Princess Street and Tulip Lane downtown Kingston; a Beretta .380 pistol with seven rounds of ammunition seized at Lincoln Avenue; and a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol with five 9mm rounds seized at the intersection of Lyndhurst Road and New Lincoln Avenue.
These weapons were seized through a range of increased operational activities across the division following a series of snap raids, spot checks, cordon and searches and vehicle check point, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit said in a news release.
