Duane Pressure drops summer single
Singer Duane Pressure will tell it straight off the bat that he is a party animal. His love for a good dance inspired My Crew, his latest song.
Produced by KonseQuence Muzik, it features Miami deejay Popeye Caution.
“My Crew is basically a summer party vibe. I wrote the song based on the lifestyle my friends and I live,” Duane Pressure explained. “Every holiday we travel to Jamaica to have a splendid time, visiting all the party sessions in the latest fashion and buying top-shelf liquor, just having fun. There is one life to live, and we are going to live it.”
Born Duane McNee in New York to Jamaican parents, Duane Pressure started his career as a dancer, heavily influenced by Michael Jackson and Usher.
He has been recording professionally since 2014. Last year, he did Gone Up with dancehall fashionista Gary Sherlock; My Crew is his most high profile follow-up.
On his next trip to Jamaica, it won’t be all partying for Duane Pressure. He plans to get radio disc jockeys and sound system selectors acquainted with My Crew.
He admits trying to break a dancehall song in Jamaica from abroad is not easy.
“I have reached out to a few radio disc jockeys and some have responded. I believe not living in the island, it’s difficult getting airplay,” he said.
