Jamaica Yellow Pages’ ‘Foodie Finds’ hit the road
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica Yellow Pages (JYP) hit the road last Saturday with its “Foodie Finds” promotion, an islandwide excursion to discover authentic Jamaican food as part of their Jamaica Observer Food Awards partnership.
The food destinations were selected through crowd sourcing on social media and recommendations by JYP staff.
Nine restaurants and street-food eateries from across the island serving up the best oxtail, curry goat, roast pork, roast fish, and authentic local cuisine have been selected. A team of food enthusiasts, nine culinary chefs from HEART College of Hospitality Services, University of Technology (UTech) and members of the Jamaica Culinary Foundation will explore these eateries to sample their local fare.
“Foodie Finds” is a great opportunity for food lovers to discover local eateries that are “off the beaten path”.
“We are always excited to share things, places and events while promoting local businesses that are excelling in their field,” says Jamaica Yellow Pages Marketing Manager Ayanna Kirton.
“Through our partnership with the Food Awards, we will showcase micro-small businesses in the food industry that are making a big impact,” she added.
Social media fans of The Jamaica Yellow Pages will also have the opportunity to join them on the tours, and enjoy authentic Jamaica cuisine from some of Jamaica’s best local eateries.
The islandwide tour will also take place on May 14 and 15. Visit the Jamaica Yellow Pages Facebook and Instagram pages for competition rules and tour schedule.
