First Union Financial Company Limited was incorporated in 1999 as a limited liability company that provides financial assistance to employees and entrepreneurs. To date, the company mainly operates in the micro-financing sector with two distinct portfolio streams:

1. Micro Business Loans

2. Personal Loans

Our micro business loans are geared towards small businesses such as: informal enterprise, sole proprietor, partnership and limited liability. Although we concentrate on established businesses, we do accommodate some startup businesses, even though the risks are greater. Our emphasis however, is placed on developing existing small businesses.

We provide loans to individuals, mainly employees of stable companies which facilitate repayments through salary deductions. Repayments are however also accepted over-the-counter and through standing order arrangements. This programme (First Union Financial Assistance Programme) is designed for Government employees and specific employees within the private sector.

We continue to make efforts in placing our agents and branches in strategic areas of Jamaica so as to make our services available to small businesses and employees alike. Our Field Credit Officers are mobilized so they can make the necessary visits to entrepreneurs who are not able to visit our branch network.
