Azul Sensatori expanding Negril hotel
Fast-growing Florida-based operated Karisma Hotels and Resorts is completing construction of 51 additional suites to its owned and managed hotel Azul Sensatori as the company prepares for an influx of tourists over the 2016/2017 winter season.
Concurrently, Azul Sensatori has received the AAA four diamond rating after just two years in operations. Azul Sensatori Jamaica — based in Negril — currently has 136 suites.
Karisma Hotels and Resorts, which owns and manages properties in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, last year announced plans to build 4,000 rooms on Jamaica’s north coast over of the next decade, costing roughly US$1 billion.
The company will be investing US$900 million for the construction of 1,200 suites by 2018, separate from US$45 million it is spending on a 149-room property to be called Azul Seven, just next door Azul Sensatori.
Azul Sensatori Jamaica, opened in December 2014, is the first of a number of hotels to be constructed in Jamaica by Karisma Hotels & Resorts. The second property, the Azul Seven, is currently under construction in Negril and is scheduled to open in May 2017.
“We are pleased that our first Azul Hotel in Jamaica has received the AAA four diamond rating in under two years of operation,” said Mandy Chomat, executive vice-president of sales and marketing at Premier Worldwide Marketing, an exclusive representative of Karisma Hotels & Resorts, in a recent news release.
“We look forward to our current and upcoming properties being recognised for this impressive award in the future.”
