Kingston, Jamaica — Gordon House recently hosted Madame Fu Ying, chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), and a five-member delegation.
The visit was a part of the continuing effort to promote cooperation between the legislative bodies of Jamaica and China, and to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The visiting delegation had discussions with the Internal and External Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives. They also paid courtesy calls on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Pearnel Charles, and President of the Senate, Senator Thomas Tavares-Finson, and met with several government Ministers and their Opposition counterparts.
The delegation arrived in the island on Friday, May 13, and departed on Sunday.
