Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards judge Annaliesa Lindsay visits Rotty and Cherry for the porridge and discovers the turkey neck and tripe and beans

Having got word about a great place for porridge, I went to Rotty & Cherry’s cook shop which is located on Old Stony Hill Road, just before reaching the square. However, It appeared that the popularity of the porridge was not underestimated because it was all finished by the time I got there on Saturday. I was told that it was plantain porridge.

Lunch was not yet ready so I perused the menu and returned an hour or so later. Lunch menu offerings included turkey neck, tripe and beans, stew peas, fried chicken and beef soup. My lunch of tripe and beans, turkey neck and stew peas, totalled $1,050.

The tripe and beans and the turkey neck were both very tasty. I should add that I almost never got any of the tripe and beans because it was in great demand

Sunday Lunch at Pushpa’s

Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards judge Annaliesa Lindsay and guest judge Adolph Raynor enjoyed an early supper at Pushpa’s located at Northside Drive, Liguanea of chicken Tikka Masala with hot and sour soup with chicken; mutton Rogan Josh and butter naan. Verdict: Good experience
