Netball semis set for Leila Robinson Courts
THE semi-finals of the 2016 Netball Jamaica (NJ)/Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) Major and Minor League competitions will be played this evening at the Leila Robinson Courts.
In Major League action, defending champions Mico ‘A’ will face the University of the West Indies (UWI) Pelicans, while Jamalco go up against Molynes United ‘A’, starting at 7:00 pm.
The Minor League semi-finals that are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm will see Waterhouse Eagles taking on Global United ‘B’, while Tantrum will do battle with Queens Park.
Champions Mico ‘A’ and JAMALCO are currently the two unbeaten teams in the Major League, while Global United ‘B’ is the sole unbeaten team in the Minor League competitions.
Shooters Taniel Roberts and Stephanie Anderson of Mico ‘A’ are expected to lead the charge to victory, while Pelicans will be depending on Thristina Harwood and Rebekah Robinson to outscore their opponents.
In the Major League quarter-finals on Sunday, defending champions Mico ‘A’ defeated Raven 40-19, UWI Pelicans beat University of Technology Knights 40-30 and Molynes United ‘A’ beat Mico ‘B’ 34-27.
