Why the increase in ‘alternative practices’?

I write this with great concern in reaction to a startling rise in the number of witchcraft and palm-reading services which are being increasingly advertised on television.
I write this letter calling to question both the legality of these services and, more importantly, to warn all who consider using these services that any supernatural power which exists outside of God’s power is from Satan.
The sudden thrust in the promotion of these services comes as an alarm, as our country has been predominantly Christian. The counter statement is often made that we are now living in a “pluralistic” society and thus we should be open and tolerate other practices and beliefs. But contrary to this popular argument, for millennia we have been coexisting with and living amongst persons with a plethora of beliefs. An infinite opening to and promotion of all types of beliefs in the public sphere however, is bound to spell problems.
As these spiritualists are now taking over the airwaves, what will stop Obeah men and other cults from using this platform to lure persons to their evils? Where would we draw the line? As the scripture says in Revelation 21:8, “But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practise witchcraft, idol worshippers, and all liars – their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1). We need to realise that spiritual forces are real. We cannot afford to play around with any evil force in the name of ‘culture’.
