Javada catches Enrique’s ear
SINGER Javada is getting some attention internationally through the official remix of Enrique Iglesias’s Billboard Latin number one song Duele El Corazon (The Heart Hurts).
Iglesias has posted a snippet of the remix on his Instagram page.
“I feel good about this. My songs are mostly appreciated outside of Jamaica, but for an artiste like Enrique to want to do a remix with me, it is an awesome feeling. This will only help to put Brand Javada some more out there,” Javada told the Jamaica Observer.
He explained how the collaboration came about.
“I did some songs with (producer) Rvssian for the Latin market and he sent them out to some of his contacts. Then I got word that Enrique wanted me to be on the remix.”
The original version of Duele El Corazon was released in April by Sony Music Latin. It went number one on two Billboard charts, the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Pop Songs. It is certified platinum in Italy and Spain, and gold in Poland.
Originally from East Kingston, Javada (real name Nevada Myrie) is in his late 20s and has been recording professionally since 2013. His previous hit songs include Say The Word, Gal Dem Ready, Special Delivery and Hold On.
Widely regarded as the ‘King of Latin pop’, Iglesias (son of Latin legend Julio Iglesias) has sold over 137 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artistes in that market. His many hits include Bailamos, Be With You, Hero and Escape.
