History of Power Plus Electrical and Plumbing Hardware

The late 1990s to the early 2000s was an era marked by significant change in the global environment. Changes to which businesses in the Jamaican space were not immune. It was during the year 2000 that Lloyd Christie was casualty of a redundancy exercise in one of the Manufacturing Industry in an unnamed Plant in Montego Bay. However, being a licensed electrician, competent in a range of electrical, lighting activities and services demanded by householders and businesses in Jamaica; and with individuals making requests for recommendations in view of energy conservation, and lightening protection methods the idea illuminated into a spontaneous ‘light bulb’ moment; to start a business venture which he named POWER PLUS.

The Vision of Power Plus Electrical, Plumbing and Hardware distribution since has been: To be the leading provider in residential, commercial and industrial electrical, lighting, plumbing, equipment, supplies; electrical maintenance and related consultancy services in Western Jamaica.

Their mission also is, Employing a cadre of trained and competent electricians and plumbers, with the requisite knowledge base and having the ability to provide high quality customer service; Power Plus will ensure the delivery of professional and cost-effective electrical lighting, equipment and services; plumbing and construction solutions along with related consultancy services to all stakeholders in Western Jamaica. The company boasts a “ one stop shop phenomenon;” allowing customers and staff to be comfortable in giving and getting quality, credible services with requisite safety and industry standards in a global environment.

Mr Lloyd Christie, Owner and Manager of Power Plus Electrical and Plumbing Hardware is a Licensed Electrician who prepares and inspects residential and commercial dwellings for approval by the Government Inspectorate. He is also a certified Energy Audit Consultant who specializes in energy conservation, and lightening protection services and employs field workers competent in electrical and plumbing solutions.
