McLeod crashes out of Monaco 110m hurdles
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Olympic medal hopeful Omar McLeod on Friday crashed out of the men’s 110m hurdles at the Monaco Diamond League.
McLeod, the World Indoor 60m champion, hit most of the hurdles before crashing to the deck hard as he challenged for the lead. He failed to finish. The race was won by Orlando Ortega of Spain in a season’s best 13.04 seconds. Dimitri Basoou of France was second in a personal best of 13.12 while his countryman, Pascal Martinot-Lagarde was third, also in a personal best of 13.17 seconds.
After five of the seven Diamond Races, Ortega assumed sole leadership with 30 points with McLeod second on 20 points.
