LIVERPOOL striker Daniel Sturridge returns to host the third annual Charity Family Fun Day, Football Tournament and Reggae Concert at the Buckfields Playing Field in Ochi Rios, St Ann, today.

“I want to invite everybody to come to Buckfields Playfield in St Ann, Ochi, to celebrate the event with us this year. We have had three events in Jamaica so far that have been successful, but we hope that this time will be even better. Hope that you can come, share the happiness, enjoy the day with us and we can put some smiles on people’s faces. I will definitely be there to celebrate with you all, so see you soon,” said Sturridge in a video promoting the event.

The event features a five-a-side football tournament and a reggae concert.

Football scholarships will be given to The Sturridge Football Academy in England, which assists young athletes achieve their aspirations of becoming a footballer. Aside from football, the athletes will receive an education that will play a vital part in the development of each player. The education apprenticeship programe will create opportunities and pathways for players upon graduation from the course.

The concert is scheduled to feature acts including Sizzla, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Jah Miel, I-Octane, Spice, Aidonia, I Octane, Ishawna, Jah Son (Sturr Class), Vershon, Romain Virgo, Sielle, Kip Rich, Spice, and George Nooks.

DJ Pepsi of Sturr Class Entertainment, Illusion Sound, Badder Bling, and DJ Freestyle will be providing the music.

Sturridge, through the Sturridge Foundation, aims to raise funds and donate to underprivileged children in England and Jamaica by creating charity projects through the provision of recreational and leisure activities, especially sport.

Sturridge, who has Jamaican lineage, is the first and only player to score in the English Premier League, FA Cup, and FA Youth Cup in the same season. He has represented England at all levels.
