EmpowerFest to issue $150,000 in back-to-school support today
Mind Food International and Grennell’s Driving School will be issuing back-to-school support worth $150,000 at the Jamaica Conference Centre today when they host EmpowerFest, an annual personal development seminar.
“Mind Food/Grennell’s saw the need to help students with back-to-school expenses. It is known that many families are struggling and we seek to assist by pooling funding from those who are in a position to change a student’s life,” says Natassia Wright, co-founder of Mind Food International.
Wright and her husband Jamar, who are both authors, founded the organisation to “equip people with the tools to live a life of empowerment, purpose and vision”. They staged the first seminar in 2014.
“EmpowerFest is all about helping people achieve their dreams and motivating them to walk in their God-given purpose,” the husband says.
The seminar is designed for adults and youth and will feature Georgia Bryce, CEO of Building According to Pattern; empowerment speakers Professor Cassandra Dillon and Dr Wes Scott; and Dr Clyde Mayberry, author and life coach. The event’s patron, Minister of Education, Youth and Information Ruel Reid is also expected to present.
