Under -20 World Champs – Rushelle Burton earns silver in 100m hurdles
BYDGOSZCZ, Poland- Rushelle Burton set a new National Junior Record 12.87 seconds (2.0m/s), the joint fifth fastest of all times while taking a shock silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles on today’s final session of the IAAF World Under 20 championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Burton’s medal pushed Jamaica’s medal tally to six, two of each and up to fifth place in the tables.
It was her second personal best of the championships after she had run 13.21 seconds in the previous round on Saturday.
Elvira Herman of Belrus won in a Championships record 12.85 seconds, fourth fastest while American Tia Jones took bronze in 12.89 seconds.
