Delayed start to 4th day of Windies vs India Test
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Morning drizzle has forced a rescheduled 10:45 am start to play on day four of the second Test between West Indies and India at Sabina Park.
Lunch break is scheduled for 12:30 pm.
Play was originally set to begin at 9:30 am – 30 minutes earlier than the usual start time – to make up for some of the time lost due to two significant rain interruptions on Monday’s third day.
However, showers overnight and this morning meant the start was delayed. At a 10:15 am inspection of the playing area, the umpires were satisfied the conditions improved enough for the West Indies to get their second innings underway.
Earlier in the match, India declared their first innings on 500-9 in reply to the West Indies paltry score of 196.
Scores: West Indies 196 (52.3 overs); India 500-9 (171.1 overs)
West Indies need to make at least 304 runs to avoid an innings defeat.
The visitors lead the four-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Antigua a week ago.
