NeilM drops Reggae Is Joy riddim
For his latest production, Reggae Is Joy riddim, US-based record producer/reggae singer NeilM has used his connections to pull on some of the genre’s finest.
“Reggae Is Joy ‘riddim’ is a reggae culture and lover’s rock album. I am bringing positiveness with soulful melody with an international flavour,” he told Splash.
Officially released in June on the Libra Life Music imprint, the set boasts acts including Sizzla (Behold), Richie Spice (Love This Music), Anthony B (Big City Life), Singing Sweet (Closer), Anthony Cruz (Praise Him) and the producer on Golden Sheets.
“It took time to get the artistes to voice on the ‘riddim’… some I knew personally and some I had to make connections,” said NeilM.
“It’s difficult to be singing and producing because of the preparation in getting the artistes, mixing, and everything else dealing with music.”
He is, however, pleased with the end result.
“I think this project will be received very well worldwide. It’s already doing well in the States and the Caribbean. I want to big up the artistes who work on this project and also Bryan Morris for creating the instrumental,” he said.
Hailing from Montego Bay in St James, NeilM (given name Neil March) migrated to the United States in 1981. He feels, despite his location, good music will always have a market.
“I am trying to make music for everybody. I don’t stick to one genre of music, but always will keep the message positive,” said NeilM.
